Think Design was involved in definition, design and development of furniture for Godrej U and Us. This was conceived as a totally innovative approach towards furniture segment, as we know today.
The project started with a “idea seed” from the client where Think Design was initially involved in briefing sessions, vision development and developed a strategic mission to achieve that. In a period of 18 months, we could create six ranges of furniture items for Bed, Dining and Living rooms comprising of about 90 products with more than 1000 combinations that user could choose from. This has been a result of succesful collaboration among Think Design, Godrej DI (Disruptive Innovation) team, Godrej Interio team, Furniture manufacturers and various other stake holders... most importantly, users.
USER, TECHNICAL AND MARKET RESEARCH
Think Design conducted extensive research to understand user’s preferences, market stereotypes, materials and processes in use, technical constraints of manufacturers (including small workshops and independent carpenters) etc., and documented the findings which resulted in a design brief.
