M-ASSURE - IPTV TESTING SOFTWARE
M-Assure is a software program built for IPTV service providers. This is helpful for the technicians when the IP TV setup box is installed and configured.
HOW DID WE START?
M-Assure approached us to design the interface for the software . Think Design worked together with the client and other stake holders to define scope and limitations, project objectives and requirements, user needs and boundary conditions.
Project started with a thorough review of the application to understand functional aspects and flaws that were affecting user experience. Later, an Usability audit was conducted on the application flow to find and analyze usability bottlenecks.
- Issues in navigation within and in-between screens
- Jarring colors causing distraction to users.
- Improper placement of UI elements.
- Poor help and hint for users.
- Cluttered look and feel of overall application.
DESIGN SOLUTION
Think Design primarily focused on seamless navigation and rich visual design. Personas were developed as part of the process in defining navigation design, UI elements and visual design.
Based on Personas and the existing navigation, scenarios were defined followed by paper prototypes of the application screens. Low fidelity mockups were designed for review after freezing navigation design.
Flow and experience was reviewed by the stakeholders.
Final task of designing the interface look and feel involved arranging screens, icons, error messages and dialogs as per the flow.
UI guidelines were documented for developers in order to maintain design consistency while developing.
