EXPERT REVIEW
With a usability expert review, an evaluator uses a product or web site and assesses its usability against a set of principles or best practice guidelines. Expert reviews are popular because they are much quicker and cheaper to carry out than a usability test.
APPROACH
In an expert review, our usability specialist(s) evaluate if a given product or web site follow established usability principles, known as heuristics. An expert review may be part of a larger evaluation of product or web site usability. Different methods of reviews like exhaustive, principled, and scenario-based can be used in expert review.
In a scenario-based review, experts need a clear customer profiles and task descriptions, with this the reviewer steps through the task scenario - keeping a log of issues. later the reviewer drafts a report that includes problems and recommended improvements.Finally, the reviewer(s) meets with the design team and interactively walk through the report.
